Strawberry Banana Smoothie

I’m on a smoothie binge!  Honestly, it’s as if I’ve had some kind of epiphany!  I discovered the greatness that is dates and bananas pureed into drinkable form, and now I’m on the look out for other ways to incorporate fruits and vegetables into my daily diet via smoothies.

I’ve had this Martha Stewart recipe bookmarked for quite some time, but never really got around to making it.  Now that I’ve fallen head over heels in love with smoothies, I finally taken the plunge and I regret not taking it earlier!  It’s fresh, healthy, filling, and all things delicious!

I recently went out and stocked up on fresh fruits and vegetables solely for the purpose of smoothie-ing 🙂  Beware my friends, you are going to experience a landslide of smoothie recipes soon… Don’t say I didn’t warn you 😉

  1. Looking forward to the onslaught of smoothies!!! BRING IT ON! 🙂 LOL…This one looks great…last year I was also making a lot of smoothies…strawberry banana, mango and green monsters….We had a lot of green monsters in Ramadan last year. I like to add some flaxseeds to smoothies too…i find chia seeds make them turn gel-like.

    • LOLLL!
I’m so glad you brought up green smoothies! I’ve been looking for a good green smoothie that I can add to my growing arsenal of smoothie recipes, and I haven’t been able to find one that I can call “THE recipe.” I’m going to give yours a try… Btw, I remember seeing your mango smoothie recipe around Ramadan last year, and I totallllly can’t get it out of my head 🙂

  2. This looks so nice. I tried the other one with my new blender as promised. It was great for breakkie! If strawberries were in season I’d do this… I only have frozen rasps at the moment so I might give it a go w/ those! 😀
I’d suggest using the big plump soft dates for the date/banana smoothie, I had a few lumps – but that could be my fault for using dry dates in a blender which was only given very little time to blend – I was running a bit late in the morning and everyone else was asleep.. Didn’t want to wake them, they’d steal my entire smoothie! 😉

    • I’m so glad you enjoyed it! And I totally understand not wanting to wake anyone up in the morning with the sound of the blender… I’m the opposite though; when I want my son to wake up, I open the bedroom door and go about my noisy business until he wakes up LOL

  3. spring and summers call for smoothies 🙂 my daughter loves her banana and strawberry smoothie and so does her mom .. im waiting for mangoes .. looking forward to your smoothie kingdom 🙂
